Inclusive Design Challenges

Hosted by BIG IDeA in the form of Hackathons, these events bring together businesses, designers, customers with disabilities in order to unfold various real-world Accessibility Challenges and to draft inclusive solutions for them. We run few Hackathons so far:

John Street is an exciting blend of theatre, restaurants, retail and services each one with unique challenges for providing an accessible customer experience. John Street is about to undergo a big make-over that should improve the accessibility of the street. The goal of BIG IDeA and the Toronto Entertainment District Business Improvement Area is to help businesses on John Street be more accessible on the inside too. BIG IDeA has gathered accessibility barriers from businesses on John Street to inspire the 7th BIG IDeA Inclusive Design Challenge Event (July 6th-7th). Sign up and join us to bring your ideas to solve these challenges. Update: This Inclusive Design Challenge has been postponed for the summer’s end.
